RE: Camping World RV Sales talking the talk...

SOME ( dont know about "all" coach builders) WONT LET their dealerships sell " at cost". Call Holmans RV and have it explained to you ( who now DOESNT sell Fleetwood motorhomes....franchise was yanked just for that reason!!)I doubt it. The FTC would not take kindly to that. What you are stating is illegal. You can bet there is some other reason, but that is not the story they are telling you. Dave is correct. The Mfg. can not tell a dealer what he can sell an item for, But they can control the MAP (minimun advertised price) If you go against this they can refuse to sell product to you. Most dealer contracts that you have to sign when you become a dealer explains this.

RE: Factory installed GPS compared to Portable

I see a lot recommend the Garmin NUVI. I went on line and there are a lot of different models, and a lot of different prices. I would guess the most expensive is the Best? What model do the Garmin NUVI owners recommend?

RE: EDEN PURE QUARTZ INFRARED HEATER

Vacman, Ok, it's called marketing...... So, how much does a $679 heater sell for? Inquiring minds want to know. :@ MM. Mr Mark, we sell then for $449.00

RE: EDEN PURE QUARTZ INFRARED HEATER

Vacman, why would I care how much electricty it uses? I'm plugged it shore power that I paid for one night (or more)! But, I know you are NOT trying to sell here, you were just answering a question. I just don't understand $679 (MSRP) for a heater. MM. Mr Mark I just don't understand $355,000.00 (MSRP) For a MoHo, and then sell it for $250,000.00.......It's called Marketing....Mark

RE: EDEN PURE QUARTZ INFRARED HEATER

You have to understand, I am not trying to sell anything here. The topic was asked. I have a year of experience with the subject. satisfied customers etc. When I first heard of Infrared heaters, I said the same thing (You gotta be kidding) But I came, I experienced, it works. Laugh if you want, Not trying to sell anything. just awnswering the OP post.

RE: EDEN PURE QUARTZ INFRARED HEATER

Vacman.. I have not doubt they do what they claim (Save for the electric heaters claiming improved efficency) I just think the EdenPure is over priced Just for the heck of it http://sunheat.com I see yours is over six hundred dollars MSRP That is true. The MSRP is sugested, But we and other dealer sell them for about the same price as EDENPURE. But if you can save the price in one heating season in heating fuel,(have customers that have done this) it is not a bad deal.

RE: EDEN PURE QUARTZ INFRARED HEATER

We received some information in the mail about Eden Pure Quartz Infrared Portable Heater. We are interested in it because it will use electricity instead of propane. Sounds like it would work very nicely in the RV or at home. Has anyone purchased this unit and if so do you like it? Cathy this is a subject I happen to know a lot about. I have been a dealer for a INFRARED HEATERS for about a year. Now before I get into explaining them I know there will be a lot of arm-chair electricians will know more. But here goes: I have sold hundreds out of my small store, and I have yet(knock on wood) to have a customer tell they did not do what I said they would. Most space heaters heat similiar to a heat coil on a toaster and you only feel the heat directly. The Infrared Heater uses a Quartz Heat Tube incased in a cooper tube. A lot more than I have room here to explain. I do not handle the EDENPURE, I handle the SUNHEAT. The reason is the SUNHEAT is in nice wood cabinet (not plastic) 12 gage wiring (not 16 gage) lifetime washable filter ( not a thin cotton filter) See: SUNHEAT.COM I know I am not going to be selling any thing here, and not wanting to. You asked,

RE: Factory installed GPS compared to Portable

vacman, I don't think he was trying to correct your spelling here, but to point out that if you use an incorrect spelling on the Nav unit, it will let you down. When it comes to Nav units, spelling does count. That being said, I have run into the same situation with both of my Nav units. One is built into my Honda, and the other is a Tom Tom that I use in the MH. One of the things I do is setup waypoints on my Tom Tom ahead of time so I know at least some of what is along the route, not perfect, but it does help. Good Luck, Bill Wow, I guess some folks still are not getting it. The original poster has clarified, several times, that while he or she may be a poor speller, the spelling corrector here has poor reading comprehension (they're obviously not alone). Why? Because even if they spelled the word correctly it wasn't going to get them directions -- because the system doesn't allow searches while in motion; even if a co-pilot is doing the the data entry. Note also, that the OP explained that the co-pilot would be doing the data entry, not the OP who is the driver. That fact is reason number two why the spelling corrector (again, they're not alone here) has poor reading comprehension -- the OP's spelling skills are irrelevant if their spouse is doing the searching and for all we know their spouse is a spelling bee champion. So here it is one more time lest anyone "helpfully" chime in here: the OP did not have trouble getting breakfast because they couldn't spell "waffle". They, number one, don't need to spell waffle, their spouse does it, and; two, spelling doesn't matter when the machine won't let you type in "waffle" because it is deactivated while in motion. I know someone else is going to chime in here to explain to the OP that they went hungry that morning because "waffel" won't turn up "waffle" in most GPS and computer systems, but at least I feel better getting this out for the folks who may not be able to spell, but at least understand what they're reading. P.S., how could you pick on spelling when everyone's grammar is even more atrocious? (Just kidding, please don't respond) THANK YOU SOUTHPARK........I COULD NOT HAVE SAID IT ANY BETTER. YOU ARE ONE OF THE VERY FEW THAT HAVE RESPONDED TO MY POST THAT UNDERSTANDS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS SAYING.....THANKS AGAIN...VACMAN

RE: Factory installed GPS compared to Portable

Oh yes if I were by myself there is no way I would try to search while on the move. But with the wife riding shotgun it sure is nice to have her do the searching while on the move.

RE: Factory installed GPS compared to Portable

I believe the OP was stating that, even when spelled correctly, a search cannot be done while in motion. I could be wrong. JD That is correct. As I stated in my post I can not search while in motion with my factory installed GPS. So to have the wife search while on the move we will have to use the portable.

Factory installed GPS compared to Portable

I love using a GPS. We have had a portable one for the last couple years. One of the things we love about it is when we are going down the interstate and want to fuel, or eat at a certain resturant, DW can search the GPS , find what we want. Hit the go there button and go there. I just ordered a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Toad, and ordered the GPS built in. On a recent trip the DW tried to find a Waffel House, to our surprise the GPS told use we could not search while in motion. I understand why it has to be this way, because can you imagine how many wrecks you would see if a dude was driving a rig and was trying to find a waffel House. We plan on ordering a new coach this year, and I think now I will cross the GPS from my opion list and just use my protable........Vacman

Comfort Drive™ steering Newmar Only?

I plan on making to move to a tag axle coach this year. I am leaning toward the Newmar line mainly because I have heard a lot of good about the Comfort Drive™ Steering. Does any of the members know of any other Coach Mfg. That has a similar type of steering, under a diffent name?

RE: NADA

There's still the group that think their ride is gold too. I just got turned down on a 90% of average retail offer on a 9 year old coach that is "LOW MILES." Yeah admittedly it looks nice, but the fellow that's representing it for a widow thinks it's worth more. While it does have the tires done and has been in inside storage, it has no real MX records and whould require ALL the routine MX updated. As it turns out I found a real similar rig with better equipment about 4 hours from me for low retail. Gonna have to go look at it. It's just the hassle. As long as Joe Seller continues to see the ad prices that dealers work down from, NADA means nothing to him. Gonna keep looking Les I also have been looking for a deal on a 43' tag of some kind. Most of the people that list thier coach for sale act like none of us have ever seen the NADA I have seen a lot of 2007 Dutch Stars they are asking more than I can order a 2009 43' Dutch Aire for. i wonder if these people that list to sell, really want to sell, or do they just enjoy seeing thier ad in print.I guess they figure to start high, because they can always come down. But I think if I really wanted to sell, to set my ad apart from others, I would list at my bottom dollar and stick to it.. Just my thoughts
